The G3, which comes in your choice of a black, white, silver or bronze cover, uses these combined technologies to create what it catchily calls "Intelli-Tracking." This combo allows it to automatic adapt to weather conditions to increase reliability and to operate in conditions including very reflective floors and in lighting storms, which can over-trigger certain types of light-sensitive sensors. One way it does this is with the ingenious use of a "normal / high" switch for the infrared setting. Sometimes simple is best, no? But sometimes you need complicated, too. That's where the "one-way evening mode" comes in, which allows you to control automatic response to either two-way or one-way commuter traffic. All in all, this high-tech sensor helps keep the door from opening when unnecessary, thus avoiding loss of heat, a/c and energy in general
The G3 (at left) has both presence detection and motion detection, with its microwave antenna adjustable for either a wide or a narrow pattern of detection. Likewise, infrared pattern can be adjusted to offer two "curtains" of 24 spots (wide pattern) or two curtains of 12 spots (narrow pattern).
Options include a handheld remote control and a 12-function "programmable logic module." Wow. We have smart phones, smart cars … who knew we'd reach a point where we have smart doors? Better hope they don't get together with the phones and the cars to take over.
