Dero Bike Lockers

Now, obviously, a molded fiberglass, reinforced-plastic bicycle locker that can accommodate one or two bikes might be overkill for those just wanting to store their daughter's Huffy Go Girl single-speed. But consider: If you don't at present charge for the use of a bike room, you can add a few lockers and charge for them while leaving the rest of the space free. Or, if you now charge, say, $10 a month for use of the bike room, you can charge $20 or $25 for use of a locker. In fact, adding bicycle lockers might entice high-end bike owners to use the bike room when they hadn't before — clearing space in their apartment while adding a bit of building revenue. Win-win.

The lockers come in two series, the 300 and the 350.The former (top image) is a one-piece unit with no external or internal frame and no assembly required, It comes in tan or medium gray, with a metal handle, locking, hinges, vents and door-number plates. A standard pop-out T-Handle lock is recessed in the door, and a padlock handle is also available. The 350 (lower image) is a modular unit that needs assembly. It comes in seven colors and features all stainless-steel parts, including its Medeco T-Handle lock and available padlock handle.

The finish on both is resistant to scratches, sunlight UV damage and graffiti, and never needs painting. And because there are no common walls, the modular lockers are easily relocated and reconfigured. (See designs at right.)

Your residents might never ride in the Tour de France, but more and more, a well-equipped bicycle room is a selling point for anyone taking of tour of de building.
