Viking's various models of A.D.A.-compliant emergency / elevator phones each come with an auto dialer and a digital announcer, designed to provide reliable handsfree communication. It can automatically light "call connected" LEDs for the hearing-impaired, plus a Grade 2 Braille label for the visually-impaired. It also transmits a unique-location I.D. code or a voice announcement — so if you're stuck, well, you're not stuck.
Other features include a non-volatile digital voice announcer with 16 seconds of voice memory, advanced call-progress detection, and hands-free operation. It's remotely programmable, including to auto-answer incoming calls, and can store and dial up to five emergency phone numbers — while also cycling through backup emergency and non-emergency numbers that are busy or don't answer. There's an an enhanced weather protection (EWP) option for outdoor or harsh environments. Harsh environments? You should have been at the annual meeting with the woman stuck in the elevator had some word for management. Now that was a harsh environment — and without something like this, a completely avoidable one.
