Falcon story

Jan. 18, 2014 — Parking-garage magnate Steve Nislick, founder of the animal-rights group NYCLASS, and his wife, Linda Marcus, installed a nesting box to protect falcon eggs outside their 32nd-story penthouse at The Century, a landmark condominium at 25 Central Park West. On May 10, two chicks were born to a falcon couple named Cruiser and Comet, who  return to it daily teach their fledglings to hunt. And none of this, according to the New York Post, has sat well with the condo board, including president Mike Kelly, who believes the box could fall and hurt passersby. "Somebody did something without telling us,” he told the paper. “We’re trying to find out what our legal obligations are.” Building manager Eric Lyons of Douglas Elliman, "wants to get rid of it quietly," Marcus told the Post, which said Lyons hung up the phone on a reporter asking for comment. A Landmarks Preservation Commission spokeswoman for the  said the city will review the box.
