Janilink Multi-Function Floor Buffer

Oct. 14, 2010 — Let's get ready to RRRRUMMMBLE!!! Oh, wait, no. That's Michael Buffer. This is a floor buffer. And while the product itself isn't new — in fact, it's very old, with reportedly thousands sold over the last 25 years — the venerable Janilink 20-inch multi-function buffer has a new price: $645, down from $1,349. So, given the economy and the need for co-op boards and condo associations to really look for bargains and squeeze out value, how could we not tell you about it? And the five-year warranty and the fact that this U.S.-made product is constructed almost entirely of steel, with no plastic parts, means it should durably do your floors for who-know-how-many years.
Mounted with a with 1.5 horsepower motor rather than the usual 3/4 HP or 1HP motor on most such industrial appliances, the model 630258_KIT20 has all the oomph you'll likely need for marble polishing, concrete grinding and carpet bonneting (a.k.a. bonnet cleaning, spin-pad cleaning, absorbent-pad cleaning and carbonated-shampoo cleaning — colloquially if inexactly known as "carpet dry cleaning"). That's also enough power to let you strip and clean floors more easily than not.
Its handle — again, steel, not easily broken plastic — has dual triggers for right- or left-handed operation. The 97-pound unit comes with a 50-foot cord and your first pad driver. A shampoo tank is optional. So go ahead and rumble — because this baby sounds like when it comes to cleaning, it'll go down to the mat.
