Hello
Shareholders were told that our co-op couldn’t get a better rate or maybe get a new insurance company because we don’t have a sprinkler system. Has anyone heard of that? My old co-op didn’t have a sprinkler system.

If your insurance company told you you need sprinklers, that makes perfectly good sense to me. Remember, coverage is based on many factors, not the least of which is construction material and insurance rating. Your old building may be brick and mortar while your current is wood.
Shop around, but requiring a sprinkler system does not sound like an extravagance to me
