The WhisperTrac, from New York City's MechoShade, works with your choice of two low-voltage, 24-volt motors, which
the company describes as the "whisper-quiet" DT20 system and the "conversationally quiet" DT30 and DT32 systems. Ah, there's nothing like good ol' hard, technical terms! The DT20 is programmable to up to five intermediate stop positions using the accompanying infrared transmitter, and can work with either 110-volt and 240-volt electricity. The motor can be installed in an addressable network with control zones, and the whole shebang can also be assembled as a tandem system for your more gargantuan drapery needs.
The other two systems are more designed for institutional use, but might be what you need in your larger co-op or condo buildings. Whatever you choose, they're delivered pre-wired for ready installation. And given what most lobby renovation projects are like, installing these motorized drapery systems may well be the easiest part of the job!
